Michael Guimond

Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

Michael Guimond is the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of AWA Investment Advisors with more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. A firm believer that customer service is one of the most important facets of their business, he strives to create a positive experience for all of his clients. While clients may not remember the exact returns they received in prior years, he believes they will remember how promptly their advisor responded to their calls and how well they handled their questions and concerns. He oversees the firm’s operations, including customer service, trading, compliance, and record keeping. Serving on the Investment Policy Committee, he provides research and analysis of current and future investment opportunities for the board's consideration of incorporation into client portfolios.

Over the course of Mike’s career as a financial advisor, he has provided guidance to many individuals and families. He enjoys the opportunity he has to teach people about the markets and about managing their financial affairs. Prior to joining Buelow Financial Group in 1994, he served as an active duty officer in the U.S. Navy. Then, while he pursued his career as a Financial Advisor, he continued service to his country as a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve where he last served with the Navy Middle East Command operating out of Mac Dill Air Force Base. This included another active duty stint in Qatar while on leave from his Financial Advisor job. After 35 total years of service, he retired at the rank of Captain in 2010.

Mike and his wife Pat have been happily married for more than 34 years. They enjoy spending as much time as possible with their two wonderful grown daughters and their handsome young grandson. On the weekends, they can often be found relaxing at their lake house in Lake Placid, Florida where fishing, swimming, and boating are all on the daily agenda. Mike was an avid water skier in his youth. During college, he was on both the rifle and pistol teams and still enjoys shooting regularly.
